When a deal comes along that’s too good to be true, I’m always wary. However, I love a site that makes me turn cartwheels for savings joy. Ebates, a rewards program, that does deliver is on my short list of happy finds today.
If you’re not familiar with their service, Ebates partners with merchants, (including many qualifying purchases on eBay) to provide cash back rewards. You get these in the form of a check, which they aptly term, “my big fat check” every couple of months. As featured on CNN and several sites, Ebates is a secure program that delivers the goods. If you couple this with a rewards credit card, you’ll also get points from your credit card!
This weekend, Ebates is offering up to 8 percent in cash back rewards on Old Navy purchases. To use Ebates, you must first go to their site and become a free member. Search the 1000 retailers who partner with Ebates and click on their link on the Ebates page. You will be redirected to merchants with a tracking number that keeps count of your purchases dollar amount. There’s no rebate to enter, no coupon, (though if you have additional ones, you can enter these at the time of purchase). Ebates tracks your buying and sends a check in the mail. NOTE- you MUST access retailers through Ebates site for purchases to be credited through Ebates!
The percentage of cash back varies day to day and merchant by merchant. It’s easiest to use Ebates, if you bookmark them on your browser. With the holidays a mere 3 months away, Ebates is a welcome gift to your budget. I use Ebates in conjunction with eBay’s own cash back program (eBucks) to really ante up the rewards. To date, in pending rewards, I have $11.60 in eBucks and $17.00 in Ebates cash rewards. Again, if you make your purchases with a rewards credit card and use these two programs, you’ll save a bundle. Keep in mind that eBucks keeps a running rewards total, (once you make a payment) of eBay purchases. However, Ebates may take up to 30 days for purchases to reflect in your account. If you sign up now, Ebates will give a $5.00 check, (terms and conditions on site) as a new customer incentive.
Sign up for ebates and eBucks for free. Access eBucks via your eBay account. Go directly to Ebates link to create an account. Effortless savings. It’s your own stimulus plan!
