Those ten, however don’t prompt me to write glowing reports, even though I did find some cost cutting tips, a few household cleaning ideas and several tax tips that enlightened me. But the coupons in each magazine, for you coupon hounds, those made it worth every penny of the $15 subscription I paid. Not only does All You include record numbers of sincerely useful coupons, it also lists them by page number, with the dollar amount neatly tallied.

 In the February, 2010 magazine, you’ll score $47.13 worth of coupons for Nature Maid Vitamins, Revlon, N.Y.C. cosmetics, and sporting brand names like Dole, Neutrogena, Colgate and Hershey’s. Those pressed for time, can simply peer at the All You list, clip coupons on given pages and hustle off to the nearest sale. In the most recent two issues, I’ve found similar offerings. By my reckoning, the subscription is paid for (if you really utilize coupons) with the first issue. However, don’t buy the newsstand issues, as  with all magazines,you’ll pay nearly twice the cover price.

 If you are contemplating making any online purchase at all, check Ebates partner rebates first. You’ll be able to couple Super Bowl sales with double cash back offers in some cases, which makes even the most hardened football widow elated.

Getting in on the rebate bandwagon are Old Navy/Gap stores, (back up to their pre-holiday 10% cash back), Target (3%) and Wal-Mart (select items 2-7.5%).

 For those who buy light years ahead of holidays, now is the time to stock up on NFL goodies for maximum savings. Find jerseys, team brand apparel, glasses, party fridges or even a new television at super savings plus double rebates. Or make your Super Bowl party complete with all the trimmings with double back rewards via Ebates. Even if it your team didn’t make to Miami, or football’s not your thing- there are plenty of Super savings to take advantage of this week!

 There are a few qualifiers though:

• You must have a Double Bucks certificate to present with your old faithful Extra Care Card when you shop. Get your saving certificate online, through circulars or in stores (ask if you don’t see them. I found mine near the flyer rack in the store).
• Unfortunately we must wait to receive these “extra” Extra Care Bucks till the first week in April, (when the other quarterly bucks are available). However, you can rack up a ton by carefully planned shopping till then, so the wait- though difficult- will be worthwhile.
• How it works: You’ll earn 4 percent back on all CVS brands, (instead of usual 2%) and obtain $2 worth of ECB’s for every prescription filled. (Normally you’d earn a dollar for each script).
• Rewards for the “double bucks” will be printed on your register receipt or available online in your Extra Care account for printing the first week in April.

 Don’t forget that this applies to all CVS brand products. Shop paper products, cleaning supplies, medications and even CVS brand health and beauty items. If you haven’t tried some of the latter, this might be the time to sample and compare store brand competitors of big name brands like Pantene or Head and Shoulders. Also, about every other month CVS gives a free product to reward members via email printable coupon. Start looking for those soon, as they should be landing in your inbox between now and February 01.

 Target is having some great last minute sales this week! Some of their biggest clearance is on home décor.  Big savings at JC Penny this week are blowing some stores out of the water! JC Penny’s is having sales anywhere from 40% to 60% off of select holiday items. They also have gift cards available online and in stores, via email or e-gift, which you can receive in less than 12 hours!

Michaels- Take 40% off any regularly priced item. Pay attention to the paragraph of exclusions listed and make your own discount on a holiday, decorating or craft purchase. Expires 12/21

Old Navy – Grab 30% off any single item with this coupon. Good picks are jackets and winter coats, which are already reduced heavily. Expires 12/19.

Macy’s Wow Passes-  Get up $50 off a $200 purchase or go low and still save with $15 off a $50 purchase.

CVS- If you are one of the last humans on the planet to get one of these, or need another for frequent holiday shopping- here is a $5 off a $20 purchase for CVS. Take advantage today of their savings that give added bonus Extra Care Bucks on holiday items, (Merry Brite brand bows, tissue, or tags all are offering Extra Care Bucks that make these items free after Extra Care Bucks) Sometimes you won’t get your ECB’s if you pay with a $5 coupon like this, so a better option might be to buy these items listed above first. Get your ECB’s and the make another purchase of $20, pay for it with this coupon FIRST. Then hand the cashier your ECB’s from the Merry Brite items and whatever coupons you have.  If you employ this method, most of your remaining $15 bucks left after the coupon will be free.

Just thought I’d post this update on my earlier blogs this weekend regarding sales, freebies and savings.

If you use the Hallmark $5 coupon and don’t want much of an overage here are some suggestions:

1. Most Hallmarks have food products that are cheaply had. I’m making gift baskets for people and grabbed some of the gourmet soup mixes (retail $6.99) – on sale for $5.99.
2. Beenie Babies are either $5.99 or $6.99 and make a nice option for a stocking stuffer for a child or a kid at heart.
3. Yankee Candle tarts are 3 for $5.00 or you pick up the bonus package of 3 car air fresheners for $5.99. (Make sure you get the packages marked “bonus” and you’ll gain one freshener). Small Yankee Candles (the ones in the glass jars) are $9.99, which means you are getting half off if you buy one with the coupon. It’s still a good deal and the candles have unbeatable fragrances. Even a tiny candle burns for many hours and fills your home with heavenly scents! One to try is Almond- it’s a new fragrance that is simply delicious!
4. Other options are the $.99 cards -get five of these to stay in your $5 allotment.
5. Ornaments abound at $9.99 (with coupon, you’ll give yourself a fifty percent discount)

You can ask to use more than one coupon, as these are plentiful right now. Better Homes and Gardens had one in their December magazine, as does the web link I mentioned earlier. I have two Hallmark stores only three miles apart. One store wouldn’t let me use multiple coupons. The other did, but required separate transactions. I had three total coupons and got $18 worth of items for only $3.00 (plus tax). These coupons are good until Christmas. You’re really missing out if you don’t use them.  Also, on your receipt, you may find a call-in survey to complete.  Before I left the store, I used my cell phone to complete the survey and got another $2.00 instant coupon. I bought a dip mix for the gourmet basket ($2.99) and paid only a buck plus tax for this.

JC Penney had a recent mailing with a coupon that gave customers $10 off a purchase of ten dollars. This means, FREE stuff! What can you pick up for ten bucks at Penney’s currently?

Among the best choices for the value are the Footnotes jewelry items. Each item has a unique saying on the greeting card style packaging and is geared for various recipients. Choose friend, daughter, mother, sister or generic female recipient. Retail price was $45.00 for these Sterling Silver necklaces. Beautiful and classy looking, these are a heck of a deal right now for $14.99. For only $5.00 plus tax (after the $10 coupon), I picked one up for my sister. There are also rings in the line which are on sale for $9.99, and likewise are on a massive reduction. The only reason I’d opt out of the rings is uncertainty about sizing for my recipient, otherwise they’d be a great choice as well.

Various other options to spread your free cash out are Columbia jackets (some are on sale right now for only $23.00). When you can toss less than $15 including tax in the mix and pick up a winter jacket, pat yourself on the back! Or choose from super soft fleece scarf, mitten and hat sets in a wide range of colors for only $11.99. There are also clothing options, of course- sweaters, T’s and even jeans for $19.99. You can pick up multiple items to total ten bucks if you’d like. Items like socks or mittens are around $5.00. And of course, you can apply your ten bucks to larger purchases.

 If you missed out on the JC Penney’s mailing, use these coupons to grab some savings till the end of the holiday season!

My foray into Bath and Body Works was quite fruitful. Here are some tips on using the printable coupon:

• This printable coupon is good for a free $13 item with a ten dollar purchase.  You need to examine it carefully, as it seemed like it was for multiple products that total thirteen dollars. Alas, it’s not. With as many sales that Bath and Body are offering, it’s hard to find something that is $13, without going way under or over. Additional exclusions on this coupon are using it for the 3 wick candles or gift sets. I always like to get the best value for my free item, so it took me a while to settle on a purchase.
• Here’s what I did- I bought 2 three wick candles (on sale for $10.00 each) with my cash and then used the coupons for 2 large bottles of Victoria’s Secret Pink Fresh and Flirty lotion (retail $12 each). Having priced Victoria’s Secret body products in the past, they aren’t cheaply had. It’s great that Bath and Body carry some of their competitor’s fragrances, as the closest Victoria’s Secret is an hour’s drive from my home. Bath and Body Works honored my second coupon I’d printed out with two transactions.
• You can use the coupon for items less than $13 or take that amount off a larger item. (Though it’s clear they’d rather have you use it for a smaller purchase under thirteen bucks).
•  After my purchase, I got two additional coupons for $10 off a thirty dollar purchase and two register receipts for surveys that give you another $10 off $30. Those surveys are worthwhile, because once you have the code written down, these coupons don’t expire for a year.

 That makes for a great shopping day!!! I’m thrilled! Save money by using coupons and combining with sales for your holiday gifts. Never neglect even the small ”free money” or “free product” coupons. As you can see, this really adds up if you use them smartly.  Don’t forget that all of these deals are ongoing till after the holidays. Get out and save!!!

1. Hallmark has a printable coupon for $5.00 off any purchase totaling at least five dollars. Seriously good deal here. Get five of their $.99 cards, or purchase an item that’s ten bucks and give yourself a fifty percent discount. There are several ornaments, small candles and plush toys that rack up for about ten bucks (or less).

2. Bath and Body Works is offering a coupon for ANY item (your choice) up to $13 free with a $10 purchase. This means if you spend $10 you’ll get $23 of smell good, feel good, skin stuff!! If you are like me, you’ll be striving to decide what to give and what to keep for yourself when entering this store! (Don’t tell my daughters I have this coupon or I’ll have to share my bounty). (By the way, you didn’t hear it from me, but the Hallmark and Bath and Body Work coupon can be printed TWICE…) I’m not saying you should do that, but…uh.. you can….

3. JC Penney sent a mailing out this week to preferred customers. If you got one, DON’T pitch it or put it in the stack of junk mail by the computer, where your coupon will collect coffee stains and dust. This flyer has a very valuable coupon that will gain you a FREE item worth ten bucks! You can use it for either ten dollars off the purchase of anything $10 (making it free) or take that amount off any purchase! I choose getting a FREE item! It doesn’t expire till December 26th, so use it when there is a good sale with lots of options. You can’t beat that! If you didn’t get that mailer, use these coupons to take $10/50 purchase, $15/75 or $20/100. To get mailings in the future, go to JC Penney’s site and sign up for their newsletter and preferred customer program.

4. Target can warm you up this weekend with FREE hot chocolate. Go to their main website, where the new Target printable coupons are. You have to go the bottom of the page to the small, tiny, nearly indiscernable print to 40 plus year old eyes that says, “grocery coupons”. Select this then scroll  to page six. Print the Swiss Miss coupon for $1.00 off (you should be able to print two). Go to Target before closing on Saturday and get 10-pack Swiss Miss for FREE- it’s on sale for $.99. Use your coupons and the register will take the full price off. It’s not even taxed since it’s a food item!

5. Fazolis- Get printable coupon for a FREE spaghetti from Fazolis by clicking here. Once you give your email address, you’ll be immediately directed to the coupon. (Make sure your priner is working first) You can chose either marina sauce or meat and all you need to buy is a soft drink! Coupons can be printed several times by signing up family members, friends,  famous people you’d like to know (just kidding) and used till January 18th, 2010!

Those of us who waited for hours to get the Herbal Essence free product last month will remember how congested the site was. Allowing this give-a-way to stretch out for a few weeks is a stroke of genius by SC Johnson and gives us all a better shot at getting the freebies.
