Simple Savings Rebate Codes

I just read a study that talked about coupon use. According to the survey, nearly 3/4ths of all shoppers use coupons occassionally. Those in the income bracket of 24-50K were the most likely to use coupons on a regular basis.  During the mad spending days of former economic periods, coupon use had dropped dramatically. Now it’s trendy to save money. Never being one to squander money aimlessly, I’ve always been in the margin to use coupons with wild abandon. I make it my quest to use, discover and dig out the savings. It’s become almost painful for me to buy anything at full value. I have a special affinity toward instant savings promotional coupon codes. There’s no print out, no clipping. Simple savings.

However one area that’s often misunderstood about these codes, are the plentiful eBay codes available on the net. Some folks are uncertain how to use them, or if they are safe, (or credible).

First of all, I do want to say ANY code you have to purchase is not usually trustworthy. Don’t buy these. I did an “undercover” operation to test this theory. Recently, I purchased an eBay “multi-purpose,” “many use” code from an eBay merchant. It was only $1.99. Supposedly, it saved me up to 10% off all my purchases in a two week period. It’s no surprise this turned out to be a bogus offer. Paypal did resolve the issue with a refund when it turned out the buyer up and vanished (account closed).

It is ok, however if you can do a search to find free codes for eBay’s items. Like getting a garage sale find on clearance, you’ll appreciate the deals. Some are still fake codes, dreamed up by humans with more time on their hands than you or I, but if you don’t buy them, you’re out nothing but time entering the code. Remember some are only for certain eBay retailers or purchases. Most expire or have limits on the number of users. Here’s a great site to try for codes:
